iPhone 3.0
The new iPhone software update version 3.0 was announced and it is said to be groundbreaking. It is for both iPhone and iPod Touch users, the update will be made available at the end of the month for $10.
Some of new features include:
- Copy & Paste function.
- Improved Bluetooth allowing multi-player gaming and file sharing.
- Google Maps include turn by turn GPS.
- Bigger landscape keyboard.
- API has now been opened up to developers and public use via the SDK.
- Push Notifications – Allowing developers to notify users on additional content and also deliver subscription based content via auto-notification.
- Spotlight – Search your entire iPhone including contacts, emails, messages, apps, calendars, photos, notes and the music library.
- Voice Memos – A new audio recording app which can use either the built in mic or external mic via the dock connector and the software will allow basic editing.
- iPhoner now is able to forward and delete individual SMS messages and now also includes MMS messages for contacts, images, Vcards, and audio and location mapping info.
- Apple iPhone Safari has new features such as anti-phishing, parental controls, auto-fill for forms and more language support.
- New APIs will now enable 3rd-party peripheral makers to construct custom apps that can connect via the dock or Bluetooth.
Another surprise for iPod touch (2G) users is the bluetooth chip. Do you know that your iPod touch has an inactive bluetooth chip? Well now you know, by upgrading to the new 3.0 software the bluetooth function will be activated. Who knows maybe it also has hidden inactive camera on it that is kept hidden until 4.0 software update.
