After the passing of Steve Jobs, many doubts if Apple company could still survive in the competitive and the ever changing technology industry. Is there more talented people in the company?

Apple Inc. investors, customers and even the fan boys are asking a huge question: Can the company continue making innovative products without its visionary co-founder Steve Jobs? The answer may lie with the ‘Luke Skywalker’ of Apple’s world, the man who designed the iPad and Macbook Air, Jonathan Ive.

The Apple’s lead designer was born in 1967 in London. He studied design at Northumbria University and later worked for a design agency in the United Kingdom. Shortly after, in 1922, Mr. Ive joined Apple (formerly known as Apple Computer Inc.) and instantly became the head of Apple’s industrial design team.

He is the man who is responsible for coming up with the physical look and feel of Apple products that have helped Apple to stand out than the rest of other companies in the consumer electronics industry. His iPad design, the iOS device with aluminum body and a multi-touch capable screen has defined the tablet computer market. The Apple iPad is the market leader of the tablet computer market over-shadowing Galaxy Tab and tablet devices made by company rivals.

Together with amazing marketing team, Jonathan Ive’s inventions have made Apple become the most valuable technology company in the world today. His designs have proven that the PC world is no longer just about Desktop based computers, but portable internet devices that fit in your pocket. The Apple iPhone has become the major income source of the company while the Macs have been the fastest growing product in the personal-computer market, eating up Microsoft Windows PC shares more and more, each and every second.

The role that Jonathan Ive plays at Apple is very important. He works in the background while the other Chief Executives play their role in the public face. According to co-workers he is both brilliant and quite. He has stayed away from the lime light in the design world, and has been known as a person who having won awards but not showing up to collect them.

Jonathan Ive designs Apple products that are constructed to be innovative, aesthetic but yet easy to use. He is very much alive and he’s always up to designing more innovative products for the company. We are expecting a new redesigned Macbooks and yet to be announced iPhone 5.

Is Samsung Copying Apple? See the comparisons between Samsung Galaxy Products and the Apple iPad. Were the lawsuits by Apple really necessary?

Is Samsung Copying Apple? Well Apple has been known as a company that delivers ‘design innovation’ in every product they make ever since they first started with Apple Computer.

As you may know the battle of patent infringements between Apple and Samsung have been going on for more than a while now. Apple has been slammed by critics, mostly because the idea of suing other company over a rectangular tablet device doesn’t seem “right”.

Is Apple suing Samsung just because of a rectangular device with touchscreen interface (Galaxy Tab) resembles the iPad? Well, a lot of people think so but if you have a look at some of the comparisons below you’ll see what the lawsuit really is all about:

We can’t deny that before the iPad was first introduced, the tablet market never really took off. If we were to compare what Apple had with the iPhone in 2007 and what other competitors had, you can see that none of the other competitors devices resembles an iPhone. It is hard to deny that Apple has indeed changed the game in the mobile industry.

I’m not saying that no devices out there should resembles an iPhone or an iPad, but if you have a look at the comparison images, I think what Samsung did is just “too much”. They copied almost every aspect of Apple’s iPad.

What do you guys think about these lawsuits?

Is the relevancy of design important for your website? Yes, a website that is visually stimulating can also lead to a websites online success but all boils down to relevance and accuracy.

A lot of websites have been designed by companies without the help of a professional web designer and have gained online success. Due to the massive increase of competitors and aggressive marketing strategies doing this alone is no longer advisable. Many unnecessary mistakes and unobserved search engine optimization strategies can be addressed when planning and constructing a website but it takes a professional to detect and determine this to make sure that the job is done right to be triumphant online.

A websites home page is one of the most important elements in a website. It is important for it to be uncomplicated, clear and accommodating to attract visitors to explore your website. The website title although does not appear on your web page helps attract visitors with some words that are catchy. Links are a major factor in search engine optimization. The number of relevant back links that revert back to your website are not the only factors in determining rank but definitely cover a considerable percentage. Links on your website also have to be accurate and work all of the time. During searches a visitor to a website loses interest in a topic or subject if the links on the site do not work or directs a searcher to an unrelated site or blog.

A website that is visually stimulating can also lead to a websites online success but all boils down to relevance and accuracy. If your website has photos of certain subjects or topics they should of course have something to do with what your company actually promotes and should be described appropriately for searchers and search engines to prefer. In a search engine optimization point of view appropriately tagged and described photos are essential because search engines can only read and not see pictures so using key words can be incorporated in and add as a plus towards optimization.

Professional London web design services that can make the chances of a website ranking high more feasible. These companies specialize in functional design options and incorporate search engine optimization techniques that give a particular website and edge with others that are being launched and older sites that are not utilizing SEO while resting on their laurels. Companies providing products and services online advertise to prospects that they are the competent and right choice. In planning and designing websites it also best to hire the companies who can do it right and are also the competent people for the job.

The lamp gives you just the right amount of glow for you to do your night-reading without being too distracting. Place a book on top of the lamp and you get a cute little illuminating house. It's a very cool lamp for the night-time readers.

I found this really cool lamp for book readers, thanks to Mikael Atoya for posting it on Facebook. I might be getting one soon but I don’t really have any form of desks next to my bed, this lamp will look so cool on the desk next to the bed. This is perfect for night readers, I’m one of them. I don’t really read a lot of books, but if I ever read I’d usually read before going to bed. I only read books once in a while, like the last Harry Potter book (in my appreciation to J.K Rowling masterpiece) I decided to read it from start to finish. The book was thick, but I gotta say Harry Potter was the reason that I actually want to be reading more books. It’s kind of one of the books that has inspired me to love reading.

What’s so great about this lamp? You can put your favorite book on top of it or whatever book that is on your reading list. You don’t even have to use bookmark or anything, just place it on top of the lamp. It is a combination of bedside lamp and a book rest. Whenever you’re ready to put your book down, leave it open to the page, rest it on top of the lamp and not only you’ll get a nice lamp, you’ll get an adorable little house.

Made of frosted glass material, the lamp gives off just the right amount of glow for you to do your night-reading without being too distracting. It is a very creative product, designed to be practical lamp and a funky way to place a book. You can purchase the lamp directly from Amazon Store.

What do you think? Isn’t this the cutest lamp, or do you have something a lot better on your bed side?

Is Adobe Flash really that bad? Apple has some good reasons on why they did not want to include Flash, and Adobe dismissed all the Apple’s statements and made some good points as well.

As you all might have heard, there has been a war between Adobe and Apple on Flash Availability on the Apple revolutionary mobile devices (iPhone, iPod and iPad).

Apple CEO, Steve Jobs, few weeks ago had posted an open letter in the Apple’s Blog (you can read it here) explaining the reasons why Apple has decided not to include Flash Technology on their mobile devices. The article, as you know, was written by Steve Jobs himself and could convince anyone who read it and change your perspectives on Flash. He pointed out that Flash is a technology that doesn’t seem to deliver well in terms of reliability and security, and it is irrelevant in the new era of touch screen devices like the iPhone and iPad.

Shantanu Narayen (Adobe CEO) dismissed Steve Jobs’ points and accuses Apple being “a smokescreen” that distracts the observers from the business motive which is the real reason why Apple did not include Flash on their mobile platforms. Just about yesterday, Adobe made an Ad Campaign targeted at Apple for their anti-Adobe stance (you can view the ad campaign at Adobe.com).

Both parties seem to have some clear reasons on the situation. Apple has some good reasons on why they did not want to include Flash, and Adobe dismissed all the Apple’s statements and made some good points as well.

Is Flash Really That Bad?

To be completely honest about it; flash is an amazing technology however I could agree that it is the major reason why my Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer browser crashes most of the times.

On the other hand, HTML 5 might be great for video viewing however I don’t think it is going to replace Flash technology in terms of web interactivity or the Flash powered interface. In another words “Flash is still Cool”. I’m working on my official web profile and guess what? It runs Flash, but don’t worry because there is an alternative view feature for (lack of Flash) devices.

My official WEB Profile runs Flash

Are top websites really going to switch from Flash to HTML 5?

Youtube is doing it, it is still in the experimental form but you can try it here. Hulu, the second largest video service in the United States, is not switching to HTML 5. This is not a good news for Hulu fans out there waiting for it to be available on the iPad. It would be great if you could watch Hulu on the iPad, but you won’t be able to do that not at least until Apple approves Flash Technology.

Should Adobe give up on Flash and start working on HTML 5 authoring software?

Even if they should, I don’t think they would. Flash is such a revolutionary technology and over the past few years it has made the web more interactive and look better except for some reasons it crashes the Internet Explorer quite frequently.

Is Apple cruel for ditching Flash to iPhone Decompiler?

I’m against the Flash to iPhone decompiler feature where Flash application can be exported into an iPhone App. Trust me, this is really bad and if Apple approved this, today we will see rapid increase in the numbers of iPhone Apps and most of them will be “junk apps”. We want unique and cool apps on the iPhone and we don’t need some random Flash application that was developed 10 years ago turned into an app and make it into the App Store.

Which Team are you on? Team Apple or Team Adobe?

Discover what to use in a digital signage campaign, including outdoor signage enclosures.

All businesses need to advertise to make the sales, to stay in business. If they do not advertise, their competitors will take the business. Now small, local businesses are now using digital signage, to promote their business, product or service.

This is due to the falling prices of the digital signage hardware, as this is based around either a plasma television or an LCD TV, but in the past few years as the technology has advanced in the display market the costs have come down dramatically. You can now get LCD displays from 19″ to 108″.

So the first things you need to think about for setting up a digital signage solution:

Decide what size of display will be used

Location, will it be indoors or outdoors?

Create the media content

What size of display?

Ok, so let’s take the first part, you need a screen that will capture the attention of potential buyers, to get your message across. So normally anything from a 32″ to 70″ display are used in shopping malls, with 19″ to 32″ being used within the actual stores or at point of sale. Then the choice is either LCD or plasma display, now the old problems of the plasma picture burn are very few and far between. The choice comes down to personal preference.

Secondly, the location.

There are three very different types of digital signage, firstly, there is indoor digital signage, this is shopping malls and even the local stores have digital signage solutions in their building, so they are protected from the weather and possible vandalism. Outdoor digital signage is were digital signage is placed outdoors and normally in un-manned areas, such as train stations, subways and the likes, so vandalism is a possibility. The third option is mobile digital signage, used in transportation, this is becoming very popular.

Now the issue with indoor dynamic advertising, is that the sign will normally be switched off at night, due to the store being closed and this reduces the amount of people you can target, were as an outdoor sign, it’s the 24 hour salesman you always wanted. The indoor sign will be cheaper to set up, however outdoor signs have been proven to have a better return on investment.

Now the problem with putting a digital sign outdoors, is that the electronics used will be electronics that have been designed for the domestic market and will fail when used outdoors in extreme temperatures. Now the solution is to either purchase a very expensive waterproof TV or to put all the electronics into either an outdoor plasma enclosure or LCD enclosure. These protective cases offer vandal proof and weather proof protection to everything inside.

Media Creation.

This is necessary and is the actual content you use for the advert, it could be just images of your product with an audio track played behind it, or it could be a complete add that splits the entire screen into various sectors, all displaying different content at the same time. You can find free digital media software free, by searching Google. Then all you have to do is add the content using drag and drop and the “new software” and upload it to the media player used in the digital signage system.
