RIP PS3?
This thing should be called project Gimmick instead of Natal.

Motion sensor controllers have been around for a while, it’s nothing new. Does anyone remember the Sega Activator?

It’s been “R.I.P PS3″ for quite a while in my opinion. The amount of people I know that stopped using or just completely got rid of their PS3 astounds me.
I think the whole motion sensor idea is cool but it is pretty gimicky. Regardless, this is the most advanced motion sensor we’ve seen and it will probably still sell well. I think hardcore gamers are still looking for the things that make games really worth playing though, and that’s the general fun factor. I can still play SNES games and even NES games on my Wii (or via an emulator) and have just as much fun. These days it’s all about how good the graphics look, how sharp the imagery is or how smooth the frame rate is. You could shove a well polished piece of crap in front of a lot of casual gamers and they would eat it up.

Well see, but the thing is this is actually considerably new. Project Natal is not just another motion sensor controller; it doesn’t even have a controller which what makes it UNIQUE. “You are your own controller” (god, seriously Microsoft should pay me for this)
