It is sad that currently Streamxy is the Malaysian’s only option for broadband Internet Service (since other internet service providers offer ridiculous rates)

My experience with streamyx has been okay, I’ve been using it for three years and I got to say that it has reached my expectation level. However I must say that TM hasn’t been doing their homework at least for the last couple of years.

Streamyx has never improved. Their 512kbs and 1MB connections are exactly the same. In fact I did not realize that my connection was upgraded from 512kbps to 1MB package about 2 months ago. I’m not experiencing any changes in my internet connection speed at all. Maybe I should go to TM branch personally and ask them about what is goin’ on here. I’ve requested the upgrade about months ago through their Streamyx Service Upgrade Request Form; you can find it here

Another thing that I’ve noticed about streamyx package is not the improvements in their connection speed but instead their latest marketing attempt: Streamyx Combo.

Streamyx Combo has nothing to do with anything. The only good thing about streamyx combo is that their ads look delicious enough to eat. It is the exact same packages they’ve been offering for many years ago but with additional web services like online encyclopedia, games, internet security, and the same old ridiculous services NOTHING NEW whatsoever. Who needs those? I need those, but not for a fee. I can have those services without having to pay a dollar.

Enough with all the critics, I guess we’ll have just to stick with Streamyx until the Hero (real competitor) saves us.

For now, to enjoy a better internet connection your option is to tweak Streamyx. Regularly streamyx problems is mainly the modem. There have been number of complains regarding with the modems provided by streamyx. You shouldn’t ask for a replacement all that will gives you is another crappy modem. You should consider buying your own modem.

Which reminds me, if you are thinking about getting Streamyx, get the without modem package. Save some money and get a real modem.

If you are a wireless user; for better connectivity you should place the router as nearest as possible to wherever you usually surf the internet. Poor WiFi Signal results in poor connectivity.
