North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) is the U.S-Canadian military organization that watches over all around the places for security threats. (Well, it’s obvious; NORAD does sound like a security organization) On Christmas Eve, the command center switches to Santa mode; they do all these weird stuff to track Santa. Every weird technology like Santa Cams, fighter jets is used to track Santa.

The Colorado Springs command center had 100 phones and over 25 computers to handle thousands of calls and emails from people who wanted to know when the Santa Claus would make it to their town. (what’s wrong with these people?) There’s been some rapid increase in search queries on Google and Yahoo for “santa tracker norad”, “santa trackers”  “live santa tracker” etc.

NORAD incorporated Santa’s path on its map software and the famous Google Application, the ‘Google Earth’.

This year in 2009 Onstar (a vehicle-navigation company) joined the club for GPS tracking, so now drivers can keep an eye on Mr. Santa’s trip while driving around the town. Santa’s Tracking Application will also be available on Social Networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.

To be honest this is like the most interesting post I’ve ever written this year.
